I wish I could record the recipes and memories of cooking with my grandmother in her 70s who lives in Nagasaki Prefecture.
Starting in 2019, I started sharing special delicious home-cooked recipes made by my grandma as a vlog.
■ The reason why it became “Grandma's Cooking Class”
In March 2019, "Grandma" passed away.
I went to the hospital for tests, but they didn't know what the cause was.
However, what I have been able to do since I fell,
I can no longer shop, clean, do laundry, or cook.
It's like "dementia".
My family now does all the housework that I used to leave to them.
I realized how much I depended on them to support my life, and while I felt sorry, I also realized that I lacked gratitude.
I started cooking as a form of rehabilitation.
Cooking requires foresight and planning, so I thought it would be great for dementia rehabilitation, so I started cooking together.
At first I was in charge of cooking, but "Grandma"
After I became more aware of this, I thought that I would like to leave my memories, and at the same time, I thought that I could spend more time with my grandma by incorporating cooking itself into my work. I decided to take charge of the cooking.
Since Grandma started cooking,
Gradually, the number of followers increased, and they advised me to change the account name and photo to grandma, which led to the creation of "Grandma's Cooking Class".
Finally, now I was able to recover enough to be able to answer live streaming.
We received comments from viewers who said, "I miss the taste of grandma's, but I can't get her to make it anymore, so I'm watching it."
